This week on The Relisher, we’re in Ibiza with Chef Rafa Zafra, one of Spain’s top chefs.
Chef Rafa’s career began at El Bulli, the legendary three-Michelin-star restaurant once considered the most influential in the world. Today, he runs seven restaurants, including his acclaimed seafood restaurant Estimar in both Barcelona and Madrid, and Jondal in Ibiza. Jondal has earned awards that place it among the leading beach restaurants in Spain.
Plus, every single chef I’ve interviewed in Spain — from Albert Adrià to Eduard Xatruch of the three-star Disfrutar in Barcelona, to two-star chef Mario Sandoval in Madrid — told me that Rafa’s Estimar restaurants are among their top favorites in both cities and absolute must-visits. So of course, I had to interview Rafa — and Ibiza felt like the perfect choice.
This was an especially fun conversation. Rafa’s energy is on fire. I never cared too much about going to Ibiza, but after speaking with him, I’ve added it to my list of places to visit.
