Welcome to The Relisher’s Venice edition! This week, I met with Vania Ghedini, head chef of the Michelin-starred Oro at Hotel Cipriani, a Belmond Hotel in Venice. She works alongside iconic chef Massimo Bottura, who serves as the restaurant’s Culinary Creative Director.

Chef Ghedini honed her skills at some of Italy’s top restaurants, including the three-Michelin-starred Le Calandre and the Michelin-starred Grancaffè Quadri in Venice. She later launched Sesamo Restaurant at the Royal Mansour in Marrakech, Morocco.

On a personal note, I chose Vania for the Venice edition after recently visiting Venice—and having the best meal of my trip at Cip’s Club.

Below, the local Venetian chef shares her favorite places in Venice—from restaurants and bars to patisseries, gelato shops, unique stores, and more—along with her must-visit restaurant recommendations for Venice travelers.
